I didn't get my white Christmas but I did get my 20 inches of snow the day after. Yesterday it was snowing all day in the city...we were all hoping for a snow day...but most of us just woke up in the morning to a huge mess! I still had to truck my way into work through huge snowbanks. I had a good time watching tourists freak out while walking on the snow and ice.
By the time I woke up in the morning literally I was buried into my apt...My stairs were completely covered. It's times like these when you wish your little brother was around. I used to make him warm up my car in the morning and scrape my windsheild...now I had to dig myself out...with a broom! haha hey thats all I own I am not going to invest in a shovel thats my landlords deal. Finally after digging my way up to the rest of the world...I saw this....
After getting off work early I decided to just hang out inside of a nice warm starbucks and drink coffee...while everyone else outside wandered through the huge snowbanks...

I traded my sky-high buildings for people-high corn. It's such a strange feeling to be home-soo much space. Toto...I have a feeling we're not in SoHo anymore. Driving home past farms and emptiness. Stopped in a bagel place that proved bagels really are better in NYC. Looking though my 17 magazine fashion feels sooo far away and out of reach...NYC do you really exist or are you some made up place I have been dreaming up in my head for 3 years?
While I was home I had an amazing photoshoot with a girl from high school at the county fair...
It's officially me and fashion tied the knot...I am now married to fashion. Fashion will always love me...fashion will never leave me.
Fashion show at Juliet during fashion week is official! Went shopping around the garment district for fabrics!! We have only two weeks to pull this off. "There's No Place Like...NYC" Wizard of Oz inspired fashion show.
Just got home from the Frying Pan. It was a super cool little bar out on a pier with a buncha boats tied around it. I fell in love with the atmosphere. After they told us the bar was closing we hear loud music coming from under one of the boats. Here they turn the holding into a club! Super cool...plus no dress code. (the music kinda sucked though) Labor Day weekend..Officially summer is over...goodbye...see you in 2011.
Fashion night out..about to hit up all the cool festivities in Soho. Prime blogging time. Tons of celebs, tons of fashion, tons of cool things...tell you all the details later--Ended up getting tons of pics taken of my leggings and lots of compliments too! I cant wait until the Juliet fashion show...to showcase all the cool things and hard work I have been up to. (wicked witch inspired leggings)
Best fashion week ever! I have had an amazing weekend! I feel like things are seriously going to start going somewhere. Saturday I went to a fashion show at the Plaza Hotel...the show itself sucked...but Pamela's shoes were amazing! I got declined as a model...because I couldnt walk down stairs...haha clumsy me...oh and I wasnt tall enough...But its ok...because I am a designer! I ended up wearing Pamela's dress :) Mr. Big was there from Sex and the City to make Pamela's day. After the show I had to head to the Meatpacking for a Miss Gustto event...It was cool to see all the girl's reactions to my blog. I had a moment of feeling like a role model for the younger girls.
If the shoe fits...find the other one and wear it.
Our fashion show is officially tonight at Juliet. I am beyond excited to see how everything goes. I hope my leggings look good! This week has felt like the best week of my life so far. I finally feel like I can call myself a REAL designer!! I really appreciate and love having Pamela as a friend! She is an amazing person and I couldnt do any of this without her. Shes truely a best friend and an amazing person and inspiration.
-The show of course went amazing!!
Last night I saw Avril Lavigne at Abe and Arthurs! Brought me back to Sk8er Boi days...She was always an inspiration to my style back in high school..no matter how many people called her a poser-i love her
Went to Le Souk tonight...Mr. Belguim was there...With his new girl of choice...Pretended not to know me at first...I wouldn't recommend forgetting me ;) So instead I started talking to a guy named T. We started chatting and got on the subject of my leggings. He said he noticed them from afar when I walked up...funny I thought cute model boys like him didnt look at crazy dressed girls like me! Talking to him was a nice change from the usual guys you meet in the city. He even sparked a bit of inspiration writing wise that he doesnt know about due to the fact we arent friends on FB. I gave him my number so we will see if he calls or not. Most likely no..but it was a try.http://missgustto.blogspot.com/2010/09/mr-inspiration.html
Hey Hey Boys,
If you inspire me, then I guess that makes you just as cool as me, right?
I think I may have met Mr. Perfect last night (haha ya right but good try!). He was a cute, nice boy though from my neck of the woods--Ohio. Only problem is his resume says he's a model...that means his house is all over the world.
Mr. Ohio smelled like blueberry gum and he was gentleman enough to walk me home in the rain. Mr. Ohio, you are such a movie, you can't go around kissing girls in the rain if you intend on breaking their hearts. Mr. Ohio are you even real? I mean after all maybe it wasn't even your good looks and amazing personality that inspired me, maybe it was just the really good love story I have been reading...
I guess the only way to tell is if he actually calls me...
All is fair in love and war
OMG. Mr. Ohio (from the blog post with blueberry gum) and I hung out a few times. He is different than I thought. He isnt just a good looking guy he is actually really smart and fun to chat with. He is really a rare personality type. Sad...he leaves to go back home tomorrow...story of my life. The good ones always get away.
I met with the agency on Friday and they loved my leggings! they are most likely going to use 2 pairs and a dress for the shooting...very cool! Good night Manhattan
Someone I met through my roommate messaged me today on FB and asked me to make a halloween costume for someone at People's Revolution! No way...sooo cool! She wants the striper dress from pretty woman...I suppose there isnt much to the dress to make. Crazy...I have to go and source the fabrics tomorrow :)
Halloween. Pamela's haunted fashion show... I had crazy costume makeup on...Staged to look like I had a bad romance..Had a crazy halloween weekend. I made my own costume-Cupid (but I only shoot ford models). Spent Saturday night at Greenhouse.
Went to watch the photoshoot with my dress. The photographer shot tethered..sooo cool something I had never seen before! The dress was amazing...
You can either watch the tv show-or live it
A stylist taught you how to dress
Your so funky I dont know where to look
If your not a model you have to pretend you are...saying you were born and raised in NYC and you have a right to the city wont work
How does one compete with a blonde?
Hello Miss Chanel bootleg, even in the dark club I can tell that's a fake
today was possibly the happiest early morning I have ever had! I woke up to an email with a transaction for a pair of my leggings!! Someone from texas-that I dont even know! Funny how she ordered the first pair I ever made...my first pair to my first REAL customer!!
Sure I'll shoot with you...whats your budget...Budget? Whats that word
I need to get labels and come up with a logo and an actual name for my brand...Sooo much to do! I cant be sending leggings out there with no tags in them!! Christmas is just around the corner...where has time gone?
Walked up 5th ave to check out the Christmas decorations for the holidays...froze a little bit but it was still pretty darn fun!
Went iceskating at Bryant Park...Blast and a half...never seen sooo many people fall on iceskates in my life!! Best holiday adventure so far :)
I attempted to make holiday cupcakes and failed miserably...Don't even ask...at least they looked pretty
Went over to Williamsburg and found some pretty cool stuff...including a fur coat!! :) Now thanks to my big spending weekend my bank account is empty and I still havent got any christmas presents for anyone but myself...
Had a good christmas..skyped with the fam xmas eve and opened my presents. Got a cool Pandigital book reader! Now I can blog anywhere :) Spent xmas day at some guy friends house. A house of too many guys thats for sure. We had a good time watching A Christmas Story, Kung-fu Panda...and eating tooo much candy...
Dec 26New York City finally gets its first official snowfall...of over 10 inches and still snowing...wow cant wait to wake up tomorrow to that mess..anyone up for a snowman?? New Years eve is around the corner...almost 2011...Come countdown with me :)
I finally ordered some business cards due to the fact lately every time I have been out people are addicted to my leggings!
Over the weekend I dyed my hair super bright red with cool blond, orange, and redder highlights, with a darker color underneath. I totally feel more edgy and rocker...it suits my wardrobe more..
Pamela's fashion event at Lima's taste went amazing! The setting was very intimate and romantic. A lot of people showed up!
I am starting a new blog project with Pamela and her boss at Gustto. They gave me a buncha bags and want me to walk around the city blogging and taking pictures with the bags. I am sooo excited to start this project. I wanna put my own life story into this blog. It will be a cool project and I am excited to be a part of it!
The birth of Miss Gustto: Follow Me (www.missgustto.blogspot.com) My life story...even the things that sound impossible...there are no lies and no secrets unkept.
Went out for dinner with the desperate housewives of New York (not the real ones but they could be) at Abe and Arthurs. Everyone worked on Wall Street...and were super rich. There were a few club owners and investors. We ordered everything on the menu to eat. These people were insane. One girl even claimed to have connects with Phillip Lim. The women all def hated me...I was a young, hip girl...they were all 28 and had several plastic surgeries (which made them look older than they were). Such a shame with all the money they had they couldnt even dress to save their life.
21 today :) Went to dinner at Nikki Beach with the crew in a dress I made just for the occasion! Pamela made me text a boy I had a crush on...Ya that went real smooth. Then after dinner we went over to Griffin...Pamela got me a cake :) Then headed to my last stop Le Souk. Pretty fun night...Hello 21.
Pamela made me a pair of my very own ruby red slippers (converse) I am in love...best birthday present ever!
Spent the day at Long Beach...soaking up the sun...getting a tan.
Happy Birthday America I watched the fireworks down at Hudson River Park with Jim and his G/f...Today is also My 3 year anniversary with NYC. 3 years ago I was fresh from Minnesota coming to New York in search of a dream. Over the years I have made friends and lost them, fell in love with the city...and hate it. I have graduated college and jumped into the big thing called reality. I Overall I have found out who I am...and who I want to be on this crazy journey. I realized that one day I can make it...if I give it my all. Everything I want I can have as long as I follow my yellow brick road.
Hey Hey Princess,
When Cinderella has already lost her shoe and gone home to bed, I am just putting on my glass slippers and going out to dance. Whether it's a fairy tale ending or not is another story. I think I kiss more frogs than Prince Charming's. The funny thing is most of the boys seem to be Prince Charming in the beginning, and later prove to just be the frog that isn't ever going to change or evolve.
But forget about the Prince for a while. What's more important is the princesses you meet. These are the girls that are going to be there with you even after the frogs hop away. The princesses are the ones that remind you shoes will never leave you. The princesses are the ones you laugh, cry, and dance with.
So, tonight me and my princesses in crime will put on our fairy tale dresses and our glass slippers, jump in our pumpkin carriage, and never leave any shoe behind for any prince (I mean would you wanna just leave your $200 pair of shoes behind either?) We will dance the night away when the clock strikes 12.
(from Miss Gustto blog)
Pamela had a red carpet event at Le Souk. I wore my leggings again :) They looked super cool with the dress and shoes of Pamela's I had on. This event inspired the blog post above. Someone posted a link on my facebook wall today...I was on some video on PerezHilton.com...how embarrassing!
I just got home from a "fashion" event..and believe me Pamela's are the best. Nothing can beat hers. The designers for the event didnt even show up--super cheesy! If your going to throw an event and you have to call your friends to see if people are there before you show up something is a problem...Oh well we still got some cool pics!
Summer is almost over-tear! I got a cool new nail polish today from Sephora "too good for him" Retail therapy makes me happy :)
Went to a cool event for Stylecaster (a blogging website) at Santos Party House. I met a girl at the beginning of the summer who interns for them. It was a pretty cool place...but you would think people who are blogging about fashion would show up a little more trendier and in fashion than in the latest Forever21 ad. Very disappointed in the amount of fashion...come on if your gunna talk about a gucci bag...you better own it. Everything in dressed2love is completely in my closet for real.
I voiced my opinion about my yearbook from back home and got everyone in the town all worked up..literally..people were deleting me on FB, people were adding me on FB, I was getting hate mail and you go girl mail...Basically I thought no one was reading my blog...so for 24 whole hours my blog was getting a lot of Minnesota hits over a silly little post...oooops :)
-Out of anyone to say anything about the post first it had to be S. I posted the blog about my yearbook and she freaked out. I really dont care shes one of the reasons for writing that post. For 18 years of my life those people bashed me and made my life heck...Maybe it did hurt some people...funny how she told me to get my facts straight...I dont know what kinda fairy tale she is living in.http://dressed2love.blogspot.com/2010/08/you-can-find-me.html
I apologized to everyone about the blog post I wrote...most said I didn't owe anyone anything...but I was just trying to be the better person.
-I got to experience the full effect of being gossip girl for the day. It felt good to say what so many people wanted to say for so many years. Those people are just haters. You can dish it out but you cant take it. Awesome way to go back home in a week...to the whole town mad at me.
I showed everyone on my blog there is an art to wearing your x-boyfriends clothes. Me and Pamela had a fun little photoshoot with some of our x's clothes that we have gathered over time. We were hoping none of them read the blog...after the previous blog about my high school I didnt need any more drama...but then again boys arent really into that kinda stuff like girls are.http://dressed2love.blogspot.com/2010/08/there-is-art-to-wearing-your-x.html
Funny how when I was younger I obsessed over the Gossip Girl books. The books were my only outlet to NYC. It was shortly after reading the books that I decided I wanted to go to the big apple. I wanted that cool lifestyle . Now looking back at the books and the 3 years of living here...I have realized that I have found that crazy lifestyle almost on accident without even knowing it. My life is a book--minus the billionaire dad...and I'm the one writing it.
Hey Hey Friends,
I have this problem. Every other week my neighbor locks himself out of his apartment and calls me to save the day and let him in . Every time I just happen to be home-lucky for him. I let him into his apartment once and now its a weekly occurrence. He has a cute dog.I would love to abduct his dog one day and walk it around the city. Maybe I should forward him my resume and see what he has to say for himself.
Best wishes and kisses
Mom's bday today! She is 4? Tonight is the Miss Gustto beauty and the bags event at Lima's Taste! I am excited all of the girls are going to wear my leggings :) Who is Miss Gustto?
Last weekend in NYC for a while. I leave on Thursday to go home. It will be strange to sleep in my old room again...haven't done that in a few years. And to be living my old life again...ahhh...I havent been home in over a year and a half. Pamela may be having an even fashion week...ohhh to have an event fashion week would be a dream of mine!
Mr. Perfect lives on the cover of magazines
You remind me of Peter Pan. Your not real...your just a figment of my imagination. You will have to try a lot harder to make a Wendy out of me. Your home is on the cover of fashion magazines. No matter how far apart we are in person, we will only be one magazine apart in time. I saw your face today while I was on 34th street on the cover of a magazine in some magazine stand. Thanks for reminding me your still here...
