Happy 3 Years NYC...

Fourth of July marks my 3 year anniversary with New York City. Crazy how fast time flies. Seems like just yesterday I was sitting in my small high school classroom daydreaming of the Big Apple and becoming a fashion designer. To think in just 3 short years I move out here, finish school, and start on my career in fashion. Not knowing anyone, or how to draw, or even anything about the city...I sure had a lot to learn. I made friends, and lost friends, got my heartbroken one to many times, moved 3 times to 3 different neighborhoods, worked 50 hours a week, almost got run over(more than once), was in 3 fashion shows, learned to take the subway with my eyes closed, shopped waaay too much, ran all over heck, and got no sleep...but along the way I found myself and who I want to be. So to all those who said I would never make it, or to give up before I even tried...thanks...cuz without you, I wouldn't have pushed myself harder. And to those of you who supported me along the way...thanks even more...cuz without your support I would have never been able to make it through the hard times and become what I want to.

I realized it doesn't matter in the end if everyone loves you, as long as you love yourself. New York is my first love. Happy 3 years NYC.

Adventures and Sunsets :)

Tonight I just went to Washington Square Park to relax a bit from all the crazy city stuff I have been occupying my time with. I watched the sunset and sat in the fountain :) Also on my way to the park I found one of the many piano's placed throughout the city as an art project...pretty cool!

A touch of industrial

This week is my birthday so of course b-day girl has to go to her b-day party wearing her very own dress. This is the dress I made semi inspired by the works of art I saw earlier in the week when I was wandering downtown near city hall. I loved the colors and the abstract shapes of the sculptures. For the dress I tried to use similar shapes and colors...the bright abstract color against the gray city background, a touch of industrial.

....I gave my heart to rock n roll....

Here are some of my newest leggings. This fabric looks very similar to a cheese grater in person! haha I love it! The reaction I got when I wore them to work: "you look like a superhero!" My reaction: "of course I am, saving one person from bad fashion one day at a time". Below is me wearing the leggings after my Pamela's fashion show.

Raw Sketches

I decided I have to sketch out all of the garments I have made...otherwise how else am I going to add all of this to my portfolio. So these are some of the rough sketches I have come up with...and eventually I will put them into photoshop and make them look all pretty :)

Round 3

Friday night was Pamela Quinzi Design round 3. She def did nothing short of suprise everyone with an amazing collection of party dresses and tall shoes. The venue was a cute little restaurant off of Christopher street in the West Village called Lima's Taste. The show was very intimate and romantic (and of course amazing).

All dresses and shoes were by Pamela Quinzi and the cool shades were thrown in by Stevie Boi.

Pamela my italian stallion...

love you...
