Golden Rule

This weekend is my work holiday party...So of course I had to make a new dress.

I take "I have nothing to wear" to a whole other level sometimes.

It just wouldn't be the same to go to these kinds of gatherings in last weeks outfit..Ya know?

The holidays are approaching.

Tis the season to be sparkling... :)

Joan of Arc

Hey Hey!

I decided to make the red plaid shirt I wore in a previous post available on my UsTrendy. Just know if you do place orders the shirt may look different depending on what kind of plaids I can hunt down. When I was wearing this shirt for the first time a guy came up to me on the street and said "I think I found my Joan of Arc" kinda creepy, yes I know...but thus the name Joan of Arc was born. Hey, I guess sometimes creepy encounters can inspire you :)

Green Romance

Today was a cold and rainy day in New York. Thank gosh I had some extra fabrics laying around the house to experiment with! So today this is what I came up with. Some green velvet leggings with glitter and stud details. LOVE:)

"I got a date with the Knight"

After my long day of wandering around Brooklyn I felt the need to come home and sew. I have been wanting to remake my final collection dress from college again but this time out of spandex. Since all the patterns were corrected soo many times until the fit was good I knew it wouldnt be too hard to get rid of the darts and use my fabrics :)

My final collection from college was inspired by the Knight's in shinning armor. I was at the met one day and for some reason when I went into the Knight section I knew that's what I wanted to use for my inspiration for my final collection. I was also obssessed with the song "Date with the Night" by the Yeah Yeah Yeah's...Thus my collection was born. I wanted the pieces to be really tailored and structured but yet simple...with textured fabrics. So I settled for a thin wool suiting in a blue greyed color and chocolate brown suede for the dress. I wanted the collection to be something that is timeless. I made this two years ago...but yet I can still wear it today and not look out of style.

Since I love the dress I decided to update it now to the fabrics I work with. Back in school we werent allowed to work with spandex at all...which is funny because we never really learned how to work with it...so why I decided to use that as my fabric of choice I have no idea...So here is the new and improved...and glittery dress :)

This dress is available on my UsTrendy site!! Get it here:

Dress.

Hey! Check out the cool new dress I made this weekend :) I took the pattern from my birthday dress and made it in a different fabric. I really cant decide now which one I like better...this is like the cool rocker version of the other one.

I got a legging order from a friend Jen...some of my leggings will now be off to LA...Thanks Jen!! Rock them please! :)

How to be a ROCKSTAR

How to be a Rockstar. Don't know how to sing? Either do I..but that doesn't mean you can't still rock!

1. Invest in a vest. Whether it's got cut off sleeves, is studded out, or is made of glitter layering a vest over a plain T is the perfect and effortless rocker vibe. Here I am wearing a Levi's vest with metal gromets a remake from a vintage store layered over the top of an old navy tank.

2. Gem out. Cover your wrists in gems. Leather cuffs, unique watches...etc. Here I am wearing my fav leather cuff from QVC (thanks mom) with a few bracelets from tibetan jewelry stores and watch second hand from Buffalo Exchange.

3. Sleep in Glitter. Glitter will be your new best friend. But make sure it's not the cheesey super flash kind. Look at vintage shops for older glitter tops...or rock my glitter leggings :) Glitter in small amounts is ok! Here I am rocking my glitter leggings with a Miss Gustto bag.

4. Ring thing. Wear tons of crazy rings. It doesn't matter if they don't really match...layer a few smaller ones together...make it look like you could pick a tough fight. My claw ring below is possibly one of the coolest rings I have owned!! (Estelle + Rachel Roy $40 online). My studded cross double finger ring is also another fav :)

The most imporant part to pulling off the rocker look is you just gotta roll outa bed and put the first outfit you find on...don't think too hard and remember, if it looks too obvious the whole "I don't really care, I'm a rockstar" thing won't work.

You don't gotta know how to sing to know how to rock!
